Get ready for the newest retirement community expansion in Mount Dora, FL! The Lakeside at Waterman Village expansion is a $100 million project located on 37 acres, surrounding beautiful Lake Margaret. The development will consist of 159 independent living units and 24 memory support units varying in size with the latest state-of-the art finishes. In addition to the picturesque Lakeside view, the community will have a clubhouse, featuring new dining venues and fitness areas, just minutes away from downtown Mount Dora. Residents will have the option to choose between condo-style homes or single-story villas, and all new homes at Lakeside will start at 850 sq. ft.
“We are excited to build Lakeside at Waterman Village to meet the growing demand and need for active retirement living in Mount Dora. This project will be the keystone leading us into our fourth decade of operation, and will provide a vibrant and contemporary lifestyle for today’s and tomorrow’s active retirees.” said Andrew Dujon, Waterman Village’s CEO and President.
The expansion is expected to create 59 permanent jobs and more than 400 temporary jobs. During the construction of the expansion, Waterman Village will feature green initiatives to minimize environmental impact to Lake Margaret and the surrounding Mount Dora community. The current timeline for the expansion includes the start of construction in summer 2020 and completion in fall 2021.
“We want seniors to truly enjoy an active community with great customer service and world-class amenities,” said Dujon. “For instance, if the AC unit breaks on a Saturday night, someone will come right away to fix it. If a resident wants to hang a picture they just bought in town, someone will come to hang it right away. Our ultimate goal is to make Lakeside at Waterman Village an exceptional place for seniors to live and enjoy life!”
