In 2003, two young optometrists, Brighid Williams and Kerry Giedd, had the great ambition and vision to open a woman-owned optical boutique called Eola Eyes in downtown Orlando. They first settled in a small historic office in Thornton Park, one block from the locally famous Lake Eola. They made the commitment of providing patient-centered care and fashion-forward eyewear in a welcoming environment. They also set the goal of providing a healthy work-life balance for everyone involved in their business.
Over the years, the doctors celebrated their success and also dealt with their challenges - from obtaining their first client, to dealing with the 2004 hurricanes that ransacked Central Florida and damaged their office, to adding talented optometrists to their staff - the doctors have continually worked to improve and expand the services and products they offer. They never lost track of their goals, and their valued patients and the practice grew by leaps and bounds.
In August 2010, Eola Eyes purchased a bigger building, where they could incorporate new technologies in patient care and expand the eyewear selection in the Eola Eyes optical boutique. Today, their new office at 519 North Mills Avenue, allows Eola Eyes to offer patients more convenient scheduling, ample parking space, and an even more comfortable environment. They are also recognized as an innovative optical retailer by Vision Monday, a national vision care publication, in the first annual Design and Retail Excellence (D.A.R.E.) awards, receiving the "Seeing Green" award for "most daring eco-achievement."
Eola Eyes remain committed to the highest standards of care and products for their current patients and to all those who may visit Eola Eyes in the future.
